What Is the Great Inagua Art Collection?

The Art Lover quest is an estate restoration assignment given by butler Bernard Woodhouse after completing This Old Cove in Sequence 4. Bernard asks Edward Kenway to track down the estate's lost collection once owned by Lady Catherine Ann Summers. Returning pieces to the hideout triggers narrative milestones and gear rewards at specific collection thresholds:

  • 15 Art Pieces: Bernard meets Edward in the garden and awards the Le Bourgeoys Blades pistol sword along with the Found Coin trinket.
  • 25 Art Pieces: Bernard relocates to the manor parlor and provides the Aquila's Wheel, Aquila Figurehead, and the Aquila's Sails.
  • 30 Art Pieces: Bernard waits by the manor treasure hoard in the basement, granting 4,000 Reales, the Paddy Layback sea shanty, the Obsidian Hull, and the master assassin outfit.

While the Art Lover side quest concludes after turning in 30 items, the full hideout catalog contains 70 display items across three primary groups: 41 art pieces, 9 paintings, and 20 ship models. Completing the manor also ties into mounting 11 character portraits, 18 swords, 12 pistols, and an outfit to fill every display rack for the Dilettante achievement.

Where Are the Warehouse Paintings Located?

Warehouse paintings are nine framed wall decorations looted from guarded supply depots throughout the West Indies. Infiltrating each warehouse requires identifying the keyholder with Eagle Vision, stealing the key without alerting the entire zone, and opening the storehouse doors.

According to the Vulkk Art Lover guide, these secret paintings count toward total manor wall requirements if players prefer purchasing over raiding.

How Do You Farm Fleet Art Pieces?

Fleet art objects are nineteen rare inventory trinkets acquired exclusively through naval piracy missions. Accessing these requires capturing forts across the Caribbean to unlock all five operational sea sectors in kenway's fleet.

  1. Capture five high-durability brig-class warships from southern, high-difficulty waters and assign them to your fleet docks.
  2. Open the fleet management table in the Great Inagua manor or the Jackdaw captain cabin.
  3. Inspect available missions marked with skull icons indicating piracy operations.
  4. Select piracy operations that display an art item icon alongside the standard trade payout.
  5. Deploy brigs to active runs across all unlocked regions simultaneously.
  6. Create a manual save file immediately after your ships finish their 30-to-60-minute timers before collecting completion boxes.
  7. Collect all returns at the same time to see which replacement assignments roll into the board.
  8. Reload your manual save if none of the incoming piracy tasks show an art reward, repeating until a collectible appears.

Specific items tied to these skull assignments include the British Silver Teapot, Head of an Oba, Goa Stone Container, Kast Cupboard, Whydah Gallery-Style Bell, Scherer's 1700 Globe, Parade Helmet a l'Antique, and the Silver Two-handed Bowl.

Where Are Open-World Art Pieces Found?

Open-world art pieces are twenty-two field collectibles obtained through merchant storefronts, special treasure chests, and urban events. Six decorative objects sell directly at upgraded general stores:

The remaining fourteen items rest inside specific buried sites and regional chests:

Which Art Collection Categories Suit Your Hideout Progress?

Collection categories are distinct display groups that furnish specific rooms and trophy shelves inside the Great Inagua manor. Choosing which set to pursue depends on your current story progression, naval power, and available cash reserves.

Display CategoryBest Used ForAcquisition Cost or Requirement
Warehouse PaintingsFast Art Lover questline pointsInfiltrating 9 regional storehouses or paying 6,000 Reales at Gibara
General Store Art PiecesInstant early manor decorationsSpending 9,050 Reales total across standard general store merchants
Ship ModelsLong-term fleet room displayStory completion, boarding 10 faction ships, and sinking all 4 legendary ships

Ship models demand the highest combat capability. While five models unlock automatically across story memories (the Jackdaw, Nosso Senhor da Compreensao, The Revenge, Queen Anne's Revenge, and The El Dorado), ten require incapacitating and boarding English and Spanish cutters, schooners, brigs, frigates, and men-o'-war. Defeating the HMS Ipswich during A World Without Gold grants the sixteenth model, while overcoming the four legendary maritime bosses—El Impoluto, HMS Prince, La Dama Negra, and the joint pair HMS Fearless and Royal Sovereign—yields the final four miniatures.
